At the same time, it is not possible for all employees to go on vacation at the same time. But why not go to work, remote work is already a natural part of life for many today. Well, and so we went to the Canaries. Since we work with two screens, our biggest challenge was to find screens, but unfortunately we ran into that. Unfortunately, too many open offices as a workplace are limited to just a table and a chair, but not screens. In the best "open offices" in the area, there was such a loud thud that it was like being in a nightclub. Since the latter was advertised as the best place for young people to collaborate, I googled "elderly people open office", but that didn’t yield any results :). That didn’t become an obstacle for us either. Our hotel had enough corners where we could comfortably settle in, and the TV in the room more than replaced the need for an additional screen. ![](https://grow.ee/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Kaugtoo-Kanaarid-AL-300x225.jpg) ### What you have to get used to When a Nordic person is in the Canaries, it is assumed that you have come here to rest. If you say that you work and don't go out to enjoy the sun in the middle of the day, the questioner's eyebrows will rise to sky-high heights. Finally, fear arose, maybe someone would ask: "Who is this crazy boss who tells you to work here in our vacation hotel? Working disturbs our vacationers." But in principle, we were still able to take longer breaks in the middle of the day and finish our work in the evening. I will be honest, I have actually worked or done something during the so-called vacation before. But when you go to work, it works completely differently and better. And this is even when the workplace is a hotel. ![](https://grow.ee/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Kaugtoo-Kanaarid-Ulvi-300x225.jpg) When I came back, I felt that my serotonin and vitamin D levels had increased and I was happier. In addition, we had a lot of active discussions that would not have been possible in the office. With the positive vibes we got from our week-long remote office, we are able to better support the entire Grow team. I hope that in the future we will find people in our team who are ready to join our plans and work in an environment that is otherwise intended for vacationers. Which in itself means that every day we must have time for ourselves. Let's not confuse it with a vacation. Vacation is meant for rest. When I returned to the office, the first person I met asked, „How was your vacation?“ Ulvi Tallo ![](https://grow.ee/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Grow_2516-300x225.jpg)
